Hanieh Taipalus
Hanieh has strong experience in strategy, operations and digital growth, helping companies achieve scalable and sustainable growth. Her deepest expertise is in financial services, particularly retail banking and payments, and she has served clients across a wide range of other industries.
Before joining GNG Partners, Hanieh was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, where she led large-scale digital transformations, product innovation and commercial growth initiatives for global top-tier financial institutions across Europe, Africa and Asia. She has also taken on interim leadership roles within client organisations, driving hands-on change, building capabilities and accelerating digital delivery.
She focuses on pragmatic problem-solving and on translating strategy into tangible value and lasting impact, and builds high-performing cross-functional teams through empathetic leadership and sustainable capability building.
She holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Aalto University in Finland, and a Master of Science in Information Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from Tohoku University in Japan, all completed with distinction.
Hanieh grew up in Perth before studying in Japan and Finland and has lived and worked extensively across Europe. An award-winning public speaker, she enjoys exploring new cultures and spending time outdoors with her family.
