Paul van Heerwaarden
Paul has over 30 years' experience in agribusiness and food, including soft commodity cycle risk management and managing integrated supply chains from farm gate through to processing, distribution and marketing into industrial and consumer channels. He has worked across dairy, beef, grain, oilseeds, nuts, juice and stockfeed.
Paul joined Bega in 2009, building commercial, operational and supply chain experience in the Australian dairy industry and international dairy markets. As CEO for six years until February 2023, he led Bega's transition into a diversified branded food and beverage company with leading brands including Vegemite, Dare, Farmers Union and Dairy Farmers, following the acquisitions of the Mondelez grocery business in Australia and Lion Dairy & Drinks. Before Bega, he held finance and commercial roles with Cargill and Ridley AgriProducts.
He is now a non-executive director and Deputy Chair of Dairy Australia and a non-executive director of Select Harvests.
