Nathan Jackson
Nathan works with senior executives across the private and public sectors to address their most important strategic, commercial and investment decisions. He focuses on mining, energy and infrastructure, with extensive experience in the energy transition and sustainability agenda, and also advises financial services institutions, including superannuation funds and infrastructure investors, on portfolio strategy, capital deployment and transaction support.
He brings a partnership mindset and clear, independent perspective across corporate and business unit strategy, capital allocation and major project reviews, go‑to‑market strategy, commercial negotiation support, and investor and stakeholder strategy. His experience is built on senior roles at McKinsey & Company and Port Jackson Partners, together with operating roles at Rio Tinto and QIC, underpinned by a first‑class academic background.
Before joining GNG Partners, Nathan was an Associate Partner with McKinsey & Company in the Australian and New Zealand Mining, Energy and Sustainability practices, and an Associate Principal (Partner) at Port Jackson Partners, a leading Australian boutique strategy firm. Earlier in his career, he held management roles at Rio Tinto, including serving as Chief of Staff to a mining CEO and leading strategy and development in the Energy business, and worked in QIC’s Global Infrastructure team on investment evaluation and asset management.
Nathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Queensland.
